Turkey's influence on eCitaro's R&D

R&D activities of eCitaro were carried out by Mercedes-Benz Türk R&D Center. Existing updates and improvements are still being made in Turkey. The scope of eCitaro such as interior equipment, bodywork, exterior coatings, electrical infrastructure, diagnostic systems, road tests and equipment durability tests are carried out under the responsibility of Mercedes-Benz Türk Hoşdere Bus Factory R&D Center. The Hidropuls endurance test, which is considered the most advanced test in terms of bus production R&D in Turkey, provides the opportunity to test a vehicle under conditions corresponding to 1.000.000 km road conditions. Within the framework of road tests; In real road, climate and usage conditions, long-term tests are carried out for all systems and equipment of the vehicle in terms of function and durability.

The first prototype vehicle within the scope of eCitaro's road tests; It has been tested in extreme climatic conditions and all conditions that can be encountered in different driving scenarios in road tests conducted in 2 different locations (Istanbul, Erzurum, Izmir) in Turkey for 10.000 hours (approximately 140.000 km) for 3 years.

The world launch of the all-electric Mercedes-Benz eCitaro, which offers an emission-free and silent drive, was held at the International Commercial Vehicle Fair in the fall of 2018.
