With the start of the education period at the university, Manisa Metropolitan Municipality put 25-meter electric buses into service in order to make transportation to MCBÜ more comfortable and safe. The electric buses, whose software and design are XNUMX% domestic, received full marks from the students with their new technology services such as USB charging and WIFI.
Manisa Metropolitan Municipality, which has the largest electric vehicle fleet in Turkey with 22 vehicles, put into service 25 new 2-meter electric buses with the start of the education period at the university. In the modern vehicles that started to provide public transportation services on the MCBÜ Muradiye Campus-Prison route, MCBÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ataç, Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department Head Hüseyin Üstün, MANULAŞ General Manager Mehmet Özgür Temiz and Muradiye Private Public Bus Cooperative President Vedat Yılmaz tested the new vehicles with students.
“Our main goal is our children”
Pointing out that their main goal is children, MCBÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ataç said, “Our children should come to our campus in better comfort. Let them attend classes with less stress. Along with the greening of our campus, we are trying to provide the best transportation. The process we are going through is a very good example of cooperation between state institutions in Manisa, mutual understanding and supporting each other. Multilateral efforts have been made,” he said.

Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department Head Hüseyin Üstün stated that they aim to provide comfortable and safe transportation to students and said, “With the thought that the cooperative may be insufficient with the activation of Akgedik and the opening of the university, electric buses have been put into service on this route. We will provide a comfortable transportation service to our students. Our planning was last year, but our schools were closed due to the pandemic. With the opening calendar of the university, we started the public transportation service. We wish success to our students, I hope we aim to provide a public transportation service with confidence and comfort.
Modern Vehicles Entered Service
Mehmet Özgür Temiz, General Manager of MANULAŞ, gave information about the expeditions of the new vehicles put into service and said, “We started joint voyages with our cooperative on the first day of education at the university, in order to provide a safe and comfortable transportation to our students, with the instruction of our Metropolitan Mayor, Mr. Cengiz Ergün. Our first vehicle departs from Manisa at 7.30 in the morning. At the same time, a vehicle takes off from Muradiye at 7.45 am. However, we will depart from Manisa 6 times and from Muradiye 6 times a day. We are on the field together to provide safe and comfortable transportation to our students. Muradiye Private Public Buses Cooperative President Vedat Yılmaz stated that they provide service in the current area with 69 vehicles and said, "We will continue to serve our students and our city together with our Metropolitan Municipality."
