FASHION PRIME Textile, Ready-to-Wear Suppliers and Technologies Fair brought Izmir Fashion Industry one step closer to its export target of 1,5 billion dollars.

Aegean Apparel Exporters' Association, which participated in the Fashion Prime Fair held on September 15-17, 2021 with 32 manufacturers/exporters in the "Manufacturing" section, organized 11 bilateral business meetings between 27 representative companies operating in Izmir and 140 EHKİB members.

EHKİB also signed the “Buyer Delegation Organization” with the support of the Ministry of Commerce with the participation of 4 importers from Bulgaria, Croatia and Morocco at the Fashion Prime Fair. 25 bilateral business meetings were held in the "Buyer Committee Organization".

Burak Sertbaş, President of the Aegean Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters' Association, noted that they are one step closer to their export target of 2021 billion dollars, which they set for 1,5, with the double organization they organized at the Fashion Prime Fair.

Stating that they increased their exports from 2021 million dollars to 18 million dollars with an increase of 810 percent in the January-August period of 959, Sertbaş said, “In the pandemic process, humanity closed its home. Chain stores were closed, people's consumption rate decreased. Physical fairs and sectoral trade delegations became impossible. Even in such an environment, we realized an export of 1 billion 306 million dollars. With the contribution of the Fashion Prime Fair and similar organizations, we will reach our export target of 2021 billion dollars by the end of 1,5.”

Eskinazi: “Exhibitors are satisfied”

Visiting the participating companies in Fuarİzmir on the last day of the Fashion Prime Fair, Aegean Exporters' Unions Coordinator President Jak Eskinazi stated that the participating companies were happy with the interest and that a successful fair was held.

"If we want to make İzmir a city of fairs, we need to attract successful organizations to İzmir", Eskinazi said, "Both in terms of tourism, in terms of their contribution to the city, and for the evaluation of our fairground. We need to bring this fairground to the place it deserves. That's why we all have to work together. Fashion Prime Fair gives hope for the future. If we increase the number of participating foreign companies, it will be even more successful.”

EHKİB hosted delegations from Van and Bursa at the fair

While the Aegean Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters' Association promoted the products of the Izmir fashion industry at the Fashion Prime Izmir Fair, it sought cooperation with the delegations from Van and Bursa.

Fashion Prime Fair has turned into a platform where Van, which is in the 6th incentive zone, introduces itself to the garment industrialists of Izmir.

The Van delegation, chaired by Van Governor Mehmet Emin Bilmez, visited BEGOS, one of the important centers of apparel production, during their 2-day visit to Izmir, and met with garment industrialists at the Fashion Prime Izmir Fair. Halil İbrahim Güray, Secretary General of the Eastern Anatolia Development Agency, conveyed the opportunities offered by Van to the industrialists with a presentation on “Van Investment Potential and 6th Region Incentives”.

Uludağ Textile Exporters' Association (UTİB) Chairman Pınar Taşdelen Engin and the authorities of Uludağ Exporters' Associations General Secretariat visited the EHKİB stand on the second day of the Fashion Prime Fair. EHKİB Vice President Seray Seyfeli and UTİB President Pınar Taşdelen Engin exchanged views on joint projects that can be made between the two unions.
