Within the scope of the forest mobilization declared by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer to make the green texture of the city resistant to fires, the Metropolitan Municipality continues its work. In addition to the fire stations, the Metropolitan Municipality established new detachments and guard points against forest fires in forest villages and rural areas in order to make the fire services more effective.

Following the destruction of large forest areas by the fires in Turkey recently, the works initiated by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality are continuing at full speed. After İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer's announcement of the action plan that will make the green texture of the city resistant to fires with the words "We are declaring a forest mobilization", the works to establish a 200-person Forest Volunteers Team started, as the first İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Fire Brigade Department in Turkey. Forest Villages and Rural Area Fires Branch Directorate was established. Within the scope of the works carried out in this process, action was taken to make the fire services more effective in forest villages and rural areas. In 4 districts, new fire brigades and fire station guard stations were established to protect forest villages against forest fires.

Where are the new platoons and guard posts?

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Fire Brigade Department, which works 30 hours a day, 52 days a week with 1095 Fire Brigades, 282 personnel and 7 vehicles in 24 districts, in order to quickly respond to fires in forest villages and rural areas, Ödemiş's Gölcük, Menderes' Ahmetbeyli, Buca's Kırıklar, Balçova Teleferik created guard points in the Küçükkuyu regions of Mordoğan.

Detachments were established in Kaymakçı and Ovakent in Ödemiş, Yukarıbey in Bergama, Şirince in Selçuk, and Alaçatı in Çeşme. These areas were designed as single vehicle duty places to be kept watch in summer and winter. The detachment in Selçuk Şirince Village will serve as an important point for the protection of historical buildings and forest areas.

Ornekkoy and Ulukent are next.

KarşıyakaIt is planned to build a fire station in the urban transformation area of ​​Ornekkoy in . After the realization of the place allocation and the commissioning of the building KarşıyakaTeams will be transferred to regions such as Çiğli, Yamanlar, Gümüşpala, Kyrenia and Bostanlı faster. In addition, a station plan was prepared for Menemen Ulukent and a place allocation was provided. It will soon become a platoon. A demand was also created for Karabağlar Eskiizmir. Efforts to reduce response times to fires will be supported by the implementation of training programs and the continuation of tanker delivery to forest villages.
