Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) organizes events and campaigns to raise awareness for the European Mobility Week, which is traditionally held between 16-22 September every year.
300 SMART BICYCLES WILL PROVIDE SERVICE IN 3 POINTS
İBB subsidiary İSPARK will offer a 16 percent discount to those who rent bikes from the smart bike stations where it provides service with 22 bikes at 300 points throughout the city on September 3-50, in order to enable Istanbul residents to use more bikes. Citizens, who can rent a bicycle at a discount by using the Isbike mobile application or with a credit card, will be able to drive on the route they want.
JOURNEY FROM YENİKAPI TO HISTORIC PENINSULA
On Sunday, September 19, İSPARK will organize a 15-kilometer bicycle tour from İsbike Yenikapı Istanbul Bicycle House to the Historic Peninsula and back to Yenikapı. The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department Head Utku Cihan, İSPARK General Manager Murat Çakır and unit managers and trainers of the İsbike Cycling School will participate in the bike tour, which will be held during the European Mobility Week in order to encourage the people of Istanbul to use bicycles and to raise awareness.
BICYCLE TOUR IN MALTEPE FROM GRADUATES
Isbike trainers, who teach thousands of people from all age groups to use bicycles by providing free training, will be on the field again during the European Mobility Week. On Saturday, September 18, a bicycle tour will be organized in Maltepe, with the participation of volunteers from around 6 thousand people who graduated from İsbike Cycling School for free.
TWO TRAVELS ON THE METRO AND TRAM WITH “PARK AND GO”
Prior to the European Mobility Week, the “Park and Go” campaign launched by ISPARK on September 10 to support healthy and safe mobility with sustainable transportation models and to contribute to the reduction of noise and environmental pollution caused by traffic in the city attracts great attention.
The campaign, which was initiated under the leadership of İBB and İSPARK to ease urban transportation and to direct drivers to use metro and tramway by pulling thousands of vehicles out of traffic, will continue until 31 December.
Drivers who pay with Istanbulkart by using the “park and continue” car parks at 16 points close to ISPARK's Metro and Tram stations will not pay any fees for their two trips with Metro and Tram. In addition, there are İsbike smart bike sharing stations in 13 P+R car parks integrated into the metro and tram.
