The Fighting UAV Competition, organized within the scope of TEKNOFEST with the support of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, is held at Yunuseli Airport. Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology, said that there was a record participation of 50 thousand young people in 250 thousand teams in the races within the scope of TEKNOFEST. Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş also said that they are happy to host one of the most important competitions of TEKNOFEST.

Within the scope of TEKNOFEST 2021; Combating Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Competitions, attended by high school and university students and graduates, are held at Bursa Yunuseli Airport. While 391 of the 41 teams that applied for the competition qualify for the final, the final competitions are also very competitive. The races held in 3 categories as Rotary Wing, Fixed Wing and Free Duty were organized by Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş, Bursa Technical University Rector Prof.Dr. Arif Karademir and Turkey Technology Team Foundation Manager Ömer Kökçam also watched. Visiting the teams that made the final preparations for the competition as well as the teams competing in the field, President Aktaş and his entourage wished success to all teams.

The most important race of TEKNOFEST

Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology, said that the War UAV Competition is one of the most important races of TEKNOFEST. Stating that there are 35 different technology competitions targeting the technologies of the future within the scope of TEKNOFEST, Kacır said, “Bursa is hosting a very challenging competition. We think that Bursa's hosting is important. Bursa is a city of history, civilization and culture, as well as a city of industry and technology. It also has an important place in our exports. A city capable of producing high technology. This organization will also contribute to the development of Bursa's human resources and the participation of our young people in industry and technology processes. Interest in TEKNOFEST increases exponentially every year. This year, 50 thousand teams and approximately 250 thousand young people participate in our competitions. There is an unparalleled relevance in the world. We visited the finalist teams. There are teams from all over the country. September has been Turkey's TEKNOFEST month, the month of national technology moves. The excitement will continue throughout September and I hope we will present the awards to the champions with the participation of our President on September 4-21.”

Bursa will continue to be a pioneer

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş emphasized that the excitement of TEKNOFEST is also experienced in Bursa, as they host the UAV races. Expressing that one of the most important TEKNOFEST races is held in Bursa, President Aktaş said, “Our Bursa has the infrastructure to host many different organizations. It is a city with serious industry and technology infrastructure. The vision of our President and our domestic and national automotive factory, which TOGG started in Bursa under the leadership of our Minister of Industry, is an important indicator of this. Turkey Technology Team Foundation Manager Ömer Kökçam reminded that the most important race with a prize of 250 thousand TL was held in Bursa, and invited the people of Bursa to come to Yunuseli Airport and be a partner in this excitement.
