At the same time, 35 percent of the station structures and 23 percent of the railway works have been completed in our subway construction. Approximately 3 thousand 300 meters of rail were laid. I would like to thank our contractor company, Gülermak, for their work. Hopefully, in the 100th anniversary of our Republic, we will put our Fahrettin Altay Narlıdere Metro Line into the service of our fellow citizens.

Pointing out that a total loan of 2,5 million Euros was provided for this project with an investment amount of 205 billion liras, Soyer said, “The 50 million Euro loan we have provided from the China-based Asian Infrastructure and Investment Bank for the construction of Narlıdere Metro, without any treasury guarantee, has been given to a local government in the world by the bank. It is the first infrastructure resource given.”

“Total line length will be 27 kilometers”

Providing information about the line, Soyer said, “Fahrettin Altay - Narlıdere Metro Line consists of 7 stations. With the commissioning of the line, the number of stations in our rail system network will increase to 24, and the total line length will increase to 27 kilometers. Those who take the metro from Bornova EVKA-3 will be able to travel directly to Narlıdere District Governor's Office. It is predicted that an average of 3 thousand passengers will be transported daily from EVKA-470 to Narlıdere. On the other hand, we will also commission a fully automatic car park with a total capacity of 498 vehicles, 207 at Balçova Station and 705 at Narlıdere District Governor's Office.

Soyer said, “Our state and government do not have a one-meter tunnel in İzmir. As we have done so far, we will continue with our own resources and external financing resources. Together with our Narlıdere Metro line, we are increasing our metro lines to 27 kilometers. We are also proud of that. There are 6 rail system projects that we carry out simultaneously, 4 of which are metro. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is doing all this with a huge investment of 26 billion in total. We are talking about an investment of 3 billion Euros. He would have liked to have the support of our government, and the government to be involved in studies that will contribute to the metro network in İzmir”.

With this line, the Metropolitan Municipality will increase the number of stations in the light rail system network to 24 and the length of the rail system to 186,5 kilometers. With the completion of the works, those who take the metro from Bornova EVKA-3 will be able to go directly to Narlıdere District Governorship. The metro line will be completed in 2022.
