Applications have started for companies that want to operate shared electric scooters within the borders of Sakarya province.
In the Electric Scooter Regulation published in the Official Gazette dated April 14, 2021 and numbered 31454, 'ARTICLE 12 - (1) Within the framework of the principles in Article 11, regarding the number of e-scooters to be given by UKOME and provincial traffic commissions in their areas of responsibility, the maximum number of e-scooter permits to which each authorization certificate holder can apply, the areas where e-scooters will not be used, the application process and other conditions that may be requested. decision is taken.
Based on the Electric Scooter Regulation, a decision dated 19.08.2021 and numbered 2021/118 was taken by the Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME). With this decision, the regulation on electric scooter operation was approved and the number of e-scooters to be allowed in the districts was determined.
In this context, companies that have received a certificate of authorization from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure are required to submit their requests to the document register of the Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Registry and Decisions Department in line with the determined principles.
At the time of application, companies are required to submit a sketch or online link indicating the districts to which they will apply throughout Sakarya, the number of e-scooters in these districts and the locations of the stops for each scooter, together with the authorization document. Applications for Shared E-scooter permit can be made until 15/10/2021, and at the next UKOME meeting, the districts, companies and e-scooter numbers for which E-Skuter permits are granted will be determined.
