Breeze Airways, which started flights in May 2021, based in Utah, USA, announced that it has ordered 20 additional A220-300 aircraft from Airbus, while promoting its new aircraft cladding. These 20 previously undisclosed orders bring Breeze's total number of orders to 80, while Airbus will deliver the first order in Q2021 4.

The aircraft's new paint has been completed at Airbus' facility in Mobile, Alabama, where Airbus will deliver approximately one A6,5 per month to Breeze over the next 220 years. Breeze Airline plans to start flights with its Airbus fleet in the second quarter of 2022.

It is stated that the superior efficiency of the A220 will support the new airline's business goals of providing low fares and high flexibility travel experiences, while Breeze is expected to provide uninterrupted service at affordable prices between restricted service routes across the USA.

As the Breeze begins operations in May 2021, the first A220 to be introduced with the new cladding process is the first new aircraft to be operated by the airline.

The Airbus A220 is the only aircraft specially manufactured for the 100-150 seat market and flies with state-of-the-art aerodynamics, advanced materials, and Pratt & Whitney's latest generation PW1500G geared turbofan engines. Utilizing the latest technologies, the A220 is shown as the quietest, cleanest and most environmentally friendly aircraft in its category. Compared to previous generation aircraft, the aircraft is 50 percent quieter, with up to 25 percent lower fuel consumption per seat, as well as approximately 50 percent lower NOx emissions than industry standards.

Over 170 A220 aircraft have been delivered to 10 operators in Asia, North America, Europe and Africa, proving the versatility of Airbus' newest family member.
