Iraqi Deputy Minister of Transport, Talip Al Saed, and the accompanying delegation visited Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality to conduct investigations in order to rehabilitate the existing railways in Iraq and make them more modern and functional.
Iraqi Deputy Minister of Transport Talip Al Saed and his accompanying delegation met with the ESTRAM team for a technical tour to see the implementation of light rail systems in Eskişehir, Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Prof. Dr. Yılmaz paid a courtesy visit to Büyükerşen. Welcoming his visitors at the Metropolitan Municipality Assembly Hall, Yılmaz Büyükersen thanked Talip Al Saed and his delegation for their kind visit.
Stating that Iraq is one of the first countries to use railway transportation, Deputy Minister Talip Al Saed said, “Eskişehir is a city that successfully implements both High Speed Train and Light Rail Systems. We came here for a technical trip to improve the existing railway and light rail systems in our country. In the short time we stayed, we saw the success of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yılmaz Büyükerşen not only in the light rail system, but also in the re-creation of a city. I would like to thank the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality, Yılmaz Büyükerşen, and his entire team for his warm welcome and hospitality.”
