The process of transforming 750 Minibuses and 250 Dolmuses into Taxi, which was accepted at the last UKOME meeting with the proposal of IMM, has started. IMM Department of Transportation announced that applications can be made from Monday, September 27, 2021. Applications will be made to the service units of the Public Transportation Services Directorate in Bakırköy and Kartal.
APPLICATIONS WILL BE FREE
As determined in the UKOME Decision, the application period will be limited to 30 days. The application deadline has been determined as October 26, 2021. Applications can be made by vehicle owners or power of attorney holders. All work and transactions related to the applications will be completely free of charge.
THE CONVERSION WILL BE AUTOMATIC
For voluntary applications, a valid ID card of the license plate holder, a power of attorney as described by the UKOME decision, Vehicle Registration Summary Report will be sufficient. In case of applications for minibuses or taxi-dolmuses subject to shared ownership, the consent of all stakeholders will be sought. Applications for conversion of license plates without vehicles will not be accepted. The conversion of approved vehicles into taxis will be carried out automatically.
NO INTERMEDIATION PERMITTED
Pre-Application, Pre-Request, Collective Document etc. Brokerage activities will not be allowed. In addition, the tradesmen who are entitled to malicious persons and institutions will be constantly informed via Social Media and SMSs. Applications will be collected through a software specially prepared for the transformation process. Application procedures will be archived with camera recording.
IF THE APPLICATION IS MORE, LOTS WILL BE DRAWN
After the completion of the 30-day application process; Applications will be listed on a line basis, and if there are more applications than the number of vehicles to be converted into a taxi, lots will be drawn in the presence of a notary public.
DRAWING OF LOTS WILL BE TRANSPARENT
On line basis; In case of less or equal applications than the number of vehicles to be converted into a taxi, all applicants will be considered as entitled to taxi conversion as a result of the lottery, without the need for a lottery. The draw will be broadcast live.
As a result of the draw, the Minibus and Taxi-Dolmus Plates of the vehicles that are entitled to Taxi-Conversion will be canceled and new Taxi plates will be allocated to them. The tradesmen, who receive the Allocation Documents, will be able to start the business by procuring a vehicle with the features specified in the UKOME decision and 0 (Zero) Km-unused.
