Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the Bosphorus Cup brought the visual feast it creates every year in the Bosphorus to the Golden Horn. The first of the race, organized under the name of 'Bosphorus Cup Corporate' and which will be held traditionally every year, has been completed. The organization, which was realized in cooperation with Vira Yachting, was held with the participation of nearly 8 sailors from 50 teams.

The first of the Bosphorus Cup Corporate organization, where companies can participate with different teams formed from their own business units and compete with each other with equal boats, took place in the Golden Horn. Eight teams formed by Nestle Turkey, Glass House, Future Bright, ING and Gorbon Seramik, consisting of three main and one reserve people, completed the training races and trainings that started weeks ago and competed against each other for two days on September 4-5. The final, which took place in the historical waters of the Golden Horn, was the scene of a visual feast with high competition due to the strong wind.

Nescafe Xpress team from Nestle Turkey won the final race of the Bosphorus Cup Corporate, which was held for the first time this year, with the cooperation of the Bosphorus Cup and Vira Yachting.

Companies that value their employees competed

Efe Özbil, the Founder of Vira Yachting, made an explanation about the Bosphorus Cup Corporate, which was held for the first time, and mentioned that the companies participating in the event make their employees feel valuable. Özbil continued his words as follows: “Different teams formed by the employees of ING, Nestle Turkey, Glass House, Future Bright and Gorbon Seramik, held training sessions on identical Delphia 24 boats for weeks and competed among themselves on September 4-5. Thanks to Bosphorus Cup Corporate, the companies both increased the motivation of the team and provided all their employees with the opportunity to meet and sail.”

Contribution to the promotion of Istanbul

Bosphorus Cup Founder Orhan Gorbon pointed out that they have started such a project in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Bosphorus Cup and with the aim of increasing their contribution to the promotion of Istanbul for 20 years, and stated that they will make Bosphorus Cup Corporate a tradition. Gorbon continues his words about their new organization as follows: “The Bosphorus Cup, besides being an event followed by sailing lovers from all over the world, also makes a great contribution to the promotion of Istanbul. In order to further increase this contribution, we launched the Bosphorus Cup Corporate. Especially during the Pandemic period, we aimed for those who work remotely to compete and find morale by establishing their teams in the open air thanks to this event.”
