Speaking at the 'New Knowledge' training forum in Moscow, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin stated that unmanned control technology has been tested on all types of public transport in the capital.

Sobyanin said, “Unmanned vehicles are one of the hottest topics. Today, the system is being tested in all kinds of public transportation vehicles such as buses, subways, trams and suburban trains.

Stating that unmanned vehicles will increase traffic safety, Sobyanin said, “They are the vehicles of the future, but I cannot say that they will completely improve the traffic density on the roads. We are still testing my site and I think we will implement it in the city as we planned.”

Earlier, the Moscow Department of Transport had announced that unmanned taxis, buses and rail vehicles would begin operating in Moscow by 2040.
