TCDD General Directorate reported that the accident in Çorlu was caused by a worker service minibus passing through the level crossing with barriers, flashers, guards and closed to pedestrians and vehicles.

In the written statement made by TCDD, it was stated that 6 people died and 7 people were injured, according to the first determinations, after the accident caused by the minibus trying to cross the closed level crossing in Çorlu-Validemeşe.

In the statement, the following was noted: “Although the level crossing where the incident took place was barrier, flashing, protected, and the barriers were closed to pedestrians and vehicles at the time of the incident, an undesired accident occurred after the worker service van with license plate 59 ADJ 755 passed through the level crossing.”

In the statement, which stated that all the injured were being treated at the nearest hospital and that the prosecutor's office launched an investigation and investigation regarding the incident, they wished God's mercy on the deceased and a speedy recovery to the injured.
