Speaking at the Opening Program of the Faculty of Dentistry of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, “Our aim is to complete and commission the Rize-Artvin Airport by the end of the year.
Noting that the infrastructure constructions of Rize-Artvin Airport are almost completely finished, Erdoğan stated that significant progress has been made in superstructure constructions such as the terminal building, technical block, power centers and administration buildings.
“Our aim is to complete and put our airport into operation by the end of the year. This airport will contribute to the development of our university as well as other dynamics of the city. Because our university takes a maximum of half an hour from the airport. Of course, when this is the case, it will be much more for students to prefer this place. Rize's attraction will increase for our guests, such as faculty members, researchers and students, who will come to our university from other cities of our country and abroad.”
Rize-Artvin Airport will fully meet the airline transportation needs of the region, with a runway of 3 meters in length and a terminal building capable of serving 3 million passengers per year.
