Hundreds of young people displayed their skills at the “TÜBİTAK Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) Competitions” held at Bursa Yunuseli Airport as part of the TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival. Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank, who followed the competitions where the competition was fierce for the first place, shared the excitement of the young people. Minister Varank, "Our young people participating in the competitions will be the most successful unmanned aerial vehicle designers of the future, they will be the scientists of the future, they will be engineers who will carry out important works in Turkey." said.

INTERNATIONAL SIZE

Emphasizing that the UAV Competitions are an international organization held with TÜBİTAK within the scope of TEKNOFEST, Varank said, “There are teams from Pakistan, Poland and Indonesia this year. We're in high school competitions right now. The purpose of rotary-wing unmanned aerial vehicles was to drop the payload, a water bottle, at the designated place after autonomously making a tour here. Here is our İpekyolu Youth Center, they came from Elazığ. İpekyolu Youth Center is a center that carries out really good activities, which we support as the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Our friends did the autonomous part, but they left the water in a slightly different place. They are coming to the drone competition for the first time.” said.

3X INCREASE IN HIGH SCHOOL SETS

Stating that the number of high school teams has increased 3 times, Varank said, “We call September as technology month. We organize technology competitions as part of TEKNOFEST throughout September. The event, where TEKNOFEST's main shows will take place and where we will introduce our domestic and national vehicles, will be held at Istanbul Atatürk Airport between 21-26 September. We are really happy that our high school students design these vehicles from scratch, fly them autonomously, and participate in these competitions to fulfill their duties.” he said.
