Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality continues to develop the city's sports culture and brand value with the events it organizes or supports. Başiskele beach will host one of Turkey's most important water sports events this weekend. Children between the ages of 7-15 will sail in the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Optimist Trophy Sailing Races, which will be held in cooperation with the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports with the support of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality and the Turkish Sailing Federation.
THE GULF WILL BE COLORFUL
The races, supported by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Services Department Sports Branch Directorate, will be watched with interest by sports fans who are devoted to sailing. In the four-day organization, on September 16, the athletes will come to the competition area and leave their boats and equipment to the competition area and the registration process will be done. On September 3, the first stage will start on the track set up on the beach of Başiskele. With the start of the race, the Gulf will be colorful.
SAILERS AROUND TURKEY
Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Optimist Trophy Sailing Races will end on Sunday, September 19, with 3 races from men's and women's groups. In the organization where more than 150 athletes from various provinces of Turkey will compete with 50 sailboats, the awards of the winners will be distributed as announced in the TYF 2021 policy decisions.
PANDEMIC MEASURES
Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Optimist Trophy Sailing Races will be held by taking pandemic measures. Warning signs will be placed on all boats for races where health and safety precautions are taken. In the race, where sailors will disinfect their boats frequently, each participant will have a sufficient number of visors, masks, disinfectants and gloves. Athletes will get on their boats by taking fire measurements and pay attention to the social distance on their boats.
