About a year ago, the software to be used in the design of cockpit systems called IMODE, developed by the engineers of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), started to be taught as a course in Yıldız Technical University Avionics Master's Department.

While the development of IMODE, which continues to be accepted in international standards, in the fields of qualification and training, it started to be taught as a course on model-based software development. IMODE can model in the defense industry and many other areas, from visual designs of cockpit display systems to weapon and flight algorithm designs. IMODE, which is planned to replace imported software products, continues to be approved by world code authorities. While IMODE's qualification studies continue with new projects created by TUSAŞ software engineers, it is aimed to expand the domestic software inventory of the products included in the inventory of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) in the coming periods.

Source codes developed in safety critical software development projects certified with IMODE; It includes very important and demanding verification activities such as review, coverage analysis, testing.

TUSAŞ General Manager Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil said, “We are continuing our software work, which is of great importance in the emergence of our products, especially for our 2023 goals. In addition to our platforms, we want to strengthen our software inventories and take part in the defense industry ecosystem as a whole. We are proud to share and explain our IMODE software project with our young people, who are also the guarantee of our future as an academician. It is important to expand the use of IMODE software in basic education in order to train our engineers from the core in the future.”
