The new flight training year of the Air Force Command started after the ceremony held at the 12th Air Transport Main Base Command in Kayseri.
The 2021-2022 Flight Training Year Opening Ceremony was attended by Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, accompanied by Chief of General Staff General Yaşar Güler, Land Forces Commander General Musa Avsever, Naval Forces Commander Admiral Adnan Özbal and Air Forces Commander General Hasan Küçükakyüz.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Akar stated that the Turkish Armed Forces carries out important activities both at home and beyond. Minister Akar said, “The successes of our Air Forces Command, which is one of the essential elements of the joint operation, both in operational and peacekeeping missions are known to everyone. Finally, you performed your evacuation mission from Afghanistan with great success in terms of technical, administrative and international relations.” he said.
Reminding that the 110th Anniversary of the Turkish Air Force was celebrated, Minister Akar said, “As one of the world's most established air forces, you have performed your duties with great sacrifice and heroism, and you continue to do so.” said.
Stating that the TAF will continue its struggle until the end to fulfill its duties in the best way possible, Minister Akar said, “We will fight until the end for the unity, integrity, sovereignty and independence of our country and nation, and for the security of our people and our borders.” he said.
Minister Akar stated that the TAF was experiencing the busiest period of the Republican period and said, “Our most important duty is the fight against terrorism. We are working hard on this. Where is the terrorist, that's our target. We will continue to go after terrorists until the last terrorist is neutralized. We will neutralize the last terrorist and save our noble nation from this terror scourge.” used the phrases.
Referring to the important developments in the defense industry, Minister Akar said:
“We design, manufacture and export our ammunition, helicopter, UAV, SİHA, howitzer, MİLGEMs. Hopefully, we will build our National Combat Aircraft in the near future and we will get rid of foreign dependency in any way. Hopefully, with the leadership, support and encouragement of our President, we will be able to protect the security of our country and our nation with our own weapons, tools, equipment and ammunition by increasing our local and nationality rate in our high-tech defense industry. This is what we strive for.”

The first flight of the new flight training year was carried out by the Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar and the Turkish Armed Forces Command, after the prayers and sacrifices were made after the speeches.
Before the flight, Minister Akar moved to the 221st Fleet Command with the commanders accompanying him. who met here with the pilots, sohbet Minister Akar then took the flight briefing.
After the briefing, Minister Akar and the commanders moved to the A400M aircraft, also called “Koca Yusuf”. The flying fortress of the TAF, with Minister Akar in the first pilot seat and Chief of General Staff General Yaşar Güler in the third pilot seat, took off from the airstrip of the 12th Air Transport Main Base Command.
A MESSAGE FROM “ESEN 01” TO THE PILOTS
Accompanied by the jet plane used by Air Forces Commander General Hasan Küçükakyüz during his flight, Koca Yusuf successfully completed his mission flight.
Addressing the personnel over the radio with the call code "Esen 01" at the end of the flight, Minister Akar said:
“I congratulate the new flight training year of our Air Force Command. From now on, I hope to work in safety, peace and security as it is today. You have done all the tasks given to you in the best way so far. We have full faith that you will do the same in the future. Especially the last evacuation mission from Afghanistan is the best example of this. You've done that with these planes. We have full confidence in you. I wish you safe missions.
