MUSIAD İzmir Branch hosted the Kenya Ambassador Lieutenant General Johnson Mogoa K.Ondieki and held a meeting on “Doing Business with Kenya”.

Kenya Ankara Ambassador E. Lieutenant General Johnson Mogoa K.Ondieki hosted the meeting on “Doing Business with Kenya” held at the Bilal Saygılı Mosque and Complex Ertuğrul Gazi Conference Hall, İzmir Branch of the Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MUSIAD). At the meeting where the trade between Turkey and Kenya was discussed, the opportunities for Izmir-Kenya trade were evaluated.

THE LAW OF BROTHERHOOD BETWEEN AFRICA AND US

MUSIAD İzmir Vice President and Global Field-Foreign Relations Board Chairman Zekeriya Hazbulan started the meeting by conveying the greetings of MUSIAD İzmir President Bilal Saygılı, who could not attend the meeting due to a business trip. Mentioning his activity with 89 contact points in 95 countries around the world, he expressed his pleasure to host Ambassador Ondieki.

Reminding in his speech that MUSIAD provides services in Africa with 13 branches and 2 representations, Mr. Hazbulan said. He noted that Turkey's "Opening to Africa Policy" under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has carried out successful works in many dimensions, especially in the political, humanitarian, economic and cultural fields, in the last 18 years, and that MUSIAD has also increased its effectiveness in the continent.

KENYA IS AN IMPORTANT CENTER

Prepared, “Turkey; It is one of the strategic countries in the center of energy, transportation and communication networks at the intersection of Asian, European and African continents. Similarly, Kenya stands out with its strategic location in its region. Africa is an important geography and actor for the future. In this context, Kenya is also an important center, an important strategic area and one of our strategic partners in Africa.

There is a brotherhood law between us and Africa. We develop our commercial relations on the basis of this brotherhood law. As business people, we believe that we will make the best use of the advantages of İzmir and Kenya. As MUSIAD İzmir business world representatives, we will develop and strengthen our economic relations with Kenya by establishing mutual trust.” said.

KENYA PROVIDES INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Kenya Ankara Ambassador E. Lieutenant General Johnson Mogoa K.Ondieki made a presentation to the members of MUSIAD Izmir at the meeting and explained the investment opportunities. Expressing that the trade between Kenya and Turkey is growing steadily, Ondieki stated that Kenya focuses on production and offers wide investment opportunities to business people investing in the country.

Ondieki said, “I hope that our meeting will give a strong impetus to our relations in all commercial fields between Kenya and İzmir. Within the framework of the economic plan supported by President Uhuru Kenyatta, we are working closely with Turkey and future partners, investors and business people. Kenya is trying to focus on four main areas; production, affordable housing, inclusive health and food security. In this context, it is expected that our country will lead the development plan of Kenya in line with the 2030 Vision. As Kenya's Ambassador to Turkey, I am honored to help further strengthen the mutual relations between our countries.” he said.

At the end of the meeting, MUSIAD Izmir Vice President and Head of Global Field-Foreign Relations Board Zekeriya Hazbulan presented a gift to Kenya Ankara Ambassador E. Lieutenant General Johnson Mogoa K.Ondieki and thanked him for his participation.
