Hasan Çakırmelikoğlu, Chairman of Giresun Chamber of Commerce and Industry, pointed out that the Samsun-Sarp railway project will be a strategic investment tool in strengthening the manufacturing industry infrastructure of the region.
Çakırmelikoğlu, President of Giresun Chamber of Commerce and Industry, evaluated the developments on the railway, which has become a common demand of the Central and Eastern Black Sea provinces;
“The railway, which is thought from Samsun to Sarp and we learned that our state is in the planning process, and whose official investment program we are waiting for the good news of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will be beneficial to the development of the provinces of Samsun, Ordu, Giresun, Trabzon, Gümüşhane, Rize and Artvin, as well as EU countries and It will strengthen the geostrategic ties of Anatolian geography with Central Asia.
The Samsun-Sarp railway project, which is known to be among the most important strategic investment plans of our country, will gain a significant momentum in freight and passenger transportation by sea and land. In addition to macro targets, it will pave the way for the railway business world in the production infrastructure of our region and the cost increases in transportation to the market.
Today, our state's railway investment is of great importance in the development of our region. In this regard, we hope that the project works will start in 2021 and that it will turn into an investment decision in a short time.”
