From Samsun to Sarp Unfortunately, the Samsun-Sarp Railway Project, which the Black Sea was waiting for, was unfortunately shelved. Trabzon's Minister of Transport, Adil Karaismailoğlu, gave priority to the Trabzon-Erzincan Railway Project.
IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE YEARS AGO

If this investment, which we believe must be implemented, had been put into operation simultaneously while the Black Sea Coastal Road was being built years ago, its cost would have been greatly reduced and the Black Sea economy would have been at a much different point.
THE COST IS NOT EXTRA CHEAP

In that respect, it is a very important project. It is a project that will make a significant contribution to the region. The cost is not exaggerated either. You maintain the railway once in 10 years, you maintain the highway once in 6 months. We are waiting for the project tender of Samsun Sarp line in the shortest time.
THE PROJECT OF 100 YEARS IS SAMSUN-SARP

Samsun-Sarp Railway Line is the biggest project of this region. It is the project of 100 years for the Black Sea Region.
IF THE BLACK SEA WILL BE RAILED SAMSUN-SARP
Rize Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RİTSO) President Şaban Aziz Karamehmetoğlu: I personally told this line to President Erdoğan. This needs to be included in the program now, a project tender has to be made. If a railway is to come to the Black Sea, its route should be Samsun-Sarp. When you connect this to Batumi, from there to Azerbaijan and from there to China, you connect to a world of 2,5 billion.
IT MUST BE IMPLEMENTED, NOT SHELF
Artvin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO) President Seçkin Kurt: Samsun-Sarp Railway will be very good for the Black Sea. Trade, tourism, transportation and everything will gain momentum. We expect our President to make the project tender for the Samsun-Sarp Line as soon as possible and bring it to the region. We will support this investment until the end.
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SAMSUN-ORDU FAST TRAIN PROJECT?
Although it was announced that the project tender for the Samsun-Ordu Railway Line would be held on 25 December 2019, it was later canceled. After that, it has not been announced when the tender will be held again. It is wondered why the tender for the project was canceled and why it was not made after years.
