The Ningbo-Zhoushan port terminal, which was closed due to the corona epidemic, was reopened by the relevant authorities after the cases were reset in the country. According to the statements made by local officials to Chinese television, the work at the Meishan terminal is progressing step by step. The date when the terminal will open at full capacity has been determined as 1 September.

The port of Ningbo-Zhoushan, located approximately 250 kilometers south of Shanghai, is the third largest port in the world. Approximately 2020 billion tons of goods were traded at the port in 1,2.

The Meishan terminal was closed after a port worker tested positive for the corona on 11 August. Nearly 2 dockers were detained and prevented from leaving the port, Chinese media announced. A similar case was experienced in Shenzhen in May, and the cessation of activity in this port due to the positive test of a worker caused the cargo ships to pile up.
