IMM President Ekrem İmamoğluIMM, who gave mevlits read on November 10 Mustafa Kemal Atatürk commemoration days and distributed donuts in Muharrem months, offered ashura to Istanbulites on the occasion of "Aşure Day". Under the chairmanship of İmamoğlu, who emphasized the spiritual importance of ashura with the words "There is human, hope, fertility, unity and solidarity in Ashura," IMM distributed ashura in 15 different squares of the city. Ashura, which started to be served at noon, was served to thousands of Istanbulites throughout the day from mobile kiosks and stands.
TEAM OF 80 PEOPLE PREPARED
Ashura, distributed at the points where Istanbulites are concentrated, were prepared in the kitchens of the IMM Logistics Support Center. A team of 3 people took part in the production of ashura, which is carefully boiled under hygienic conditions, in 80 shifts. Its construction took 24 hours.
CATCHED ON THE CITY'S SQUARE
Mobile Buffets serving for the people of Istanbul in different parts of the city were on the road this time for the distribution of ashura, the symbol of sharing. Üsküdar, one of the busiest spots in Istanbul from mobile kiosks, Kadıköy Ashura was served to citizens in 15 squares with heavy traffic, such as Eyüpsultan and Eyüp.
İBB cooks used 12 kinds of ingredients while preparing the soup. From figs to legumes and nuts, it has been flavored with essential ingredients for ashura.
