Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) President Ekrem İmamoğluon the 5th day of Muharram fast, met with Alevi citizens at Aydınlı Hakev Foundation Djemevi in Tuzla. Muharrem Grief bite was distributed with the prayer of grandfather Hüseyin Tepe. Sharing the bite of the citizens, İmamoğlu stated in his speech that mourning months contain important lessons for humanity. Emphasizing the importance of Alevi citizens not having similar feelings despite the persecution they have suffered throughout history, İmamoğlu said, “Despite all evil and all troubled situations, I have to admit that this is the vein that feeds hope in me. The feeling of not giving up on the struggle to create an environment that human beings deserve, with the struggle for the well-being of people and every living creature, by learning from all the troubled moments. I wanted to share this feeling I felt in Muharram with you," he said. “WORLD'S DEEPEST PROBLEM CLIMATE CHANGE”
Referring to the recent fire and flood disasters, İmamoğlu expressed his sadness at the loss of many of our citizens. Emphasizing that it would be an easy thing to say “fire, flood, natural disaster” to the process, İmamoğlu said, “If we do not take this as our duty, if we do not learn from this, we pray 'May Allah protect us from evil', but it will be very easy for the worst to find us; only if we pray. Because the Creator gave us a mind,” he said. Pointing out that the world's deepest problem is climate change and global warming, İmamoğlu said, “What we are experiencing is actually events that make the life of human beings difficult, which disrupts the balance of nature as a compensation for the damage done to nature. In this aspect; We and administrators like us, wherever in our country, have to do things that make the lives of our people easier, protect the nature, and provide the opportunity for our people to live in an equal way.”
“ENtrusted to us, we have to protect these lands together”
In this context, emphasizing that people with merit should produce solutions at common tables with a common mind, İmamoğlu said, “A management approach that is far from arrogance, away from the understanding of 'Only I know', that appeals to the minds of any expert on the subject, takes measures to prevent such situations. . I also pray that Istanbul, all our cities and our country will meet with administrations and administrators who have such an understanding. Because, if we continue to harm our geography, fields, forest, water, sea and air in this way in the coming years, unfortunately, worse cases and worse events await us. We must accept it as our first duty to protect these lands entrusted to us, together.”
