IMM teams; While fighting nonstop to put out the fires in Manavgat, Marmaris and Bodrum for 4 days, the veterinarians of the municipality set out for medical intervention. Head of IMM Fire Brigade Remzi Albayrak, who went to the fire area to coordinate the teams, said, "Even though they have been fighting the fires for four days, the motivation of our friends is very high. We wanted to replace the tired staff. Even those with health problems wanted to stay here and continue their duties.”

IMM Emergency and Disaster Response Teams have been working non-stop for 4 days to extinguish forest fires that broke out one after another throughout the country. The struggle continues with 265 personnel, 42 vehicles and equipment in Manavgat, Marmaris and Bodrum.

Today, 6 veterinarians from the IMM Veterinary Services Directorate and medicine, cat and dog food were sent to the fire area. Veterinarians will provide medical and food support to wild animals, farm animals and our dear friends living on the street. Along with the team, 1 ton of high nutritional value cat and dog food, band-aid, serum, oxygen tube, oxygen mask, disinfectant, 35 items of medical consumables, antibiotics, painkillers, antipyretics, anti-inflammatory, vitamin group, It takes 25 items of medicine, especially pomades, to be used in wound and burn treatment.

REMZİ ALBAYRAK: “OUR STAFF IS VERY HIGH”

IMM Fire Department Head Remzi Albayrak, who went to the Alanya district of Antalya to ensure a more effective coordination between the teams and to examine the works on site, said, "Despite all the negativities, I saw that the morale motivation of our friends was very high. When we conveyed the offer to rest themselves with new friends, 'We want to complete the task we started. Because we know the land here very well. We have established a very good dialogue with the people here. We want to be a balm for their wounds here,' they said. Even those with health problems declared that they wanted to stay here and continue their duties.”

Remzi Albayrak, who stated that he will examine the fire extinguishing works in Bodrum and Marmaris after Alanya, said, “I will present the same offer to our teams who serve there wholeheartedly. I believe they will share the same thought with their friends here. Because the people here need well-trained teams with a lot of fire experience, especially like the Istanbul Fire Department. We are in a slightly better position when compared to other organizations here, both in terms of personnel and equipment. Putting our facilities at the service of our people here alleviates our sadness,” he said.
