Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin: “The construction of our tramways continues rapidly in Sakarya. At the end of the year, we are trying to raise the infrastructure up to 25 December Neighborhood. Signaling and infrastructure works continue”

In Gaziantep, many projects and studies are carried out to solve the problems in the field of transportation. It is aimed to solve the traffic density on the highways due to the transfer of workers between the 6 organized industrial zones and the city center, especially in the morning and evening hours, with the GAZİRAY Suburban line, which has a length of 25 kilometers, has 16 stations and will connect 6 OIZs and small industrial zones.

4 percent of the signaling and electrification works of the project, for which approximately 42 years of intensive work were spent, have been completed, and the construction of 8 electric train sets in Sakarya continues. With the work, which is known as the "dream project" of the city and which is aimed to be completed in the coming years, it is foreseen that hundreds of thousands of people in the city will be transported comfortably and quickly. .

Stating that hundreds of thousands of people in the city will be transported by the suburban project, Mayor Şahin stated that it is a very important project for the city. Explaining that they will start to carry passengers with the trams that will be rented until the construction of the trams is completed, Şahin said: The construction of the trams chosen by Gaziantep residents continues rapidly in Sakarya. The entire implementation phase of the Transportation Master Plan has been completed and packaged. The metro infrastructure of Gaziantep within the scope of the project was prepared as a package, and the entire infrastructure was completed. In this regard, when our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan came to the city in the past, he promised to "go to the subway" in Gaziantep. Hopefully, with its inclusion in the investment program next year, our only agenda will be the metro. We already have the power to do the others, we are starting and completing them, but a huge state investment is required with the metro part. Gaziantep deserves it. We completed the infrastructure of this, the important thing was the infrastructure. The rest will be included in the investment program and we will start by saying 'bismillah'.”
