Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş, who visited Bursa Technical University, which applied to Teknofest with 100 teams this year, promised to provide the necessary support for both morale and final preparations for the young people who woke up in the workshops for the competition.

Bursa Technical University will mark the 'Teknofest 2021 Aviation Space and Technology Festival' this year. Bursa Metropolitan Municipality supported the young people of BTU, who applied to Teknofest with 100 teams and participated in the races with 5 electric vehicles and 15 unmanned aerial vehicles, competing in technology. The support of the Metropolitan Municipality, which provides dormitory, subsistence and equipment support to the young people who will compete in Teknofest, continues throughout the summer. Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş visited the university, which works at an intense pace, waking up in the workshops with a few days before the competition. BTU Rector Prof.Dr. President Aktaş, who visited the workshops in Mimar Sinan and Yıldırım Beyazıt campuses with Arif Karademir, received information about the latest preparations. Asking whether the young people competing in the categories of electric vehicles and unmanned aerial vehicles have material and equipment deficiencies for the competition, President Aktaş said that they will make the necessary contribution to eliminate the deficiencies.

Sons of strong Turkey

President Aktaş, who promised both morale and support to the young people competing in technology, said, “We listened to the needs of our Teknofest teams and talked about what we can do. I was very happy both as a local manager and as a citizen of Bursa. One of the important indicators of a country's development is the distance it has taken in industry and technology. In this regard, good things are happening in our Bursa, there are good developments. Our children are doing great things, we are excited. One leg of Teknofest will take place in Bursa. and our young people will showcase their 1-year effort. It is really impossible not to feel their excitement. They make these preparations on sleepless nights. I see here the sons of a strong Turkey, whose Gross National Product has increased, exports have increased, and Turkey has entered the top 10 economies of the world.”

Bursa will fly this year

BTU Rector Prof.Dr. Arif Karademir also said that President Aktaş gave great support to the students besides the visit. Stating that in order to produce products with high added value, it is necessary to produce people with high added value first, Karademir said, “This is actually a workshop for producing young people who understand, comprehend and produce technological development, which is even difficult to understand. We applied to Teknofest with 100 teams this year. It is not easy for a university with 6000 undergraduate students to apply with 100 teams. Perhaps we are the university with the highest number of applicants compared to students. We have 5 electric vehicles, 15 drones, UAVs and SİHAs. Bursa will fly this year. We trust our children. We thank our president for his support," he said.
