Peugeot recently introduced the new Peugeot 308 SW with a distinctive silhouette. The new Peugeot 308 SW, which gained great acclaim for its design, unique style and technology, drew attention as an extremely efficient and modern car that meets the expectations of users in all aspects in the station wagon segment. However, the new Peugeot 308 SW has another important role in the history of the brand. The new Peugeot 308 SW also stands out for being the youngest representative of the brand's more than 70-year-old station wagon tradition. From the Peugeot 1949 SW, which was introduced in 203 and is the first station wagon of the brand, to the present day, the Peugeot brand continues to introduce powerful models in the station wagon class to users.

Today, station wagon cars do not lag behind passenger cars with their ostentatious designs, stronger and more assertive structures. Moreover, station wagon cars, which offer quite large luggage space with their long silhouettes, also provide various advantages compared to a sedan or hatchback car in this respect. Peugeot, one of the world's largest automotive brands, continues its station wagon tradition with the new 308 SW, which it has recently introduced and attracts a lot of attention with its design. Peugeot's long-established station wagon history goes back to 70 years ago.

Peugeot's station wagon tradition from past to present

The brand's first station wagon car dates back to 203, when the Peugeot 1949 SW was introduced. At that time, the station wagon segment was still in its infancy. No one knew if there really was a customer base for this type of car. But Peugeot was hopeful and knew that this class was promising. He was so confident that as early as 1956, Peugeot launched two versions of the 403 SW, a family version and a commercial version. Pleased with the interest in these models, Peugeot decided to expand the options. The 403 SW was replaced by the Peugeot 1962 SW in 404. The Peugeot 203 SW was replaced by the 1965 SW model introduced in 204.

Over time, new chapters were opened in the brand's station wagon history. The brand's station wagon tradition continued, with the Peugeot 1970 SW and 304 SW in the 504s, the Peugeot 1980 SW, 305 SW and 505 SW in the 405s, and the Peugeot 1990 SW and 306 SW in the 406s. With the millennium, the automobile world has experienced a great change. In the early 2000s, Peugeot added new ones to its station wagon options. New models brought new standards to the station wagon world, including the 206 SW, which presents the station wagon car concept in a small class on the one hand, and the Peugeot 307 SW, which brings functionality solutions specific to the compact van segment to the compact station wagon world, on the other.

Peugeot's station wagon tradition; It continues with the station wagon versions of the Peugeot 308 and Peugeot 407, as well as the first and second generation Peugeot 508 models. With all these models, the image of a Peugeot station wagon is etched in almost everyone's memory.

A new era begins with the new Peugeot 308 SW

Peugeot continues its long-established station wagon tradition with the new Peugeot 308 SW, which it recently unveiled. Like the 308 Hatchback on which it is based in terms of platform and architecture, this model draws attention as one of the most seductive vehicles in its segment. While the 308-liter luggage volume of the new Peugeot 608 SW reaches up to 1.634 liters with the rear seats folded, it also offers an extremely practical structure with the three-piece rear seats folded directly from the trunk with the side controls. The wheelbase of the new Peugeot308 SW has been extended by 55 mm compared to the hatchback model. This size change gives the rear seat passengers more space, while also giving the car a more mature and more sedate look on the road.
