Marmara Municipalities Union and Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Assoc. Dr. Tahir Büyükakın supervised the works of the 5,2st stage of the 1 kilometer road starting from the Yeni Yalı District of Körfez District to the İlimtepe District. In the examination, which also included AK Party Kocaeli Provincial President Mehmet Ellibeş, AK Party Körfez District President Ramazan Tuna and Körfez Municipality Deputy Mayor İbrahim Çırpan, Mayor Büyükakın, who received information from the Deputy Secretary General of the Metropolitan Municipality Mustafa Altay and the technical team, said, “Our Gulf district has been waiting for a long time. it was an investment. We plan to complete the work of the first phase here by the end of the year. In the meantime, we are starting the tender process for the second phase. As soon as the first section is finished, the construction of the second stage will begin,” he said.
“CONSTRUCTION OF THE SECOND STAGE WILL BE STARTED”
Stating that “Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality is an institution with a very strong institutional structure with its ability to invest”, Mayor Büyükakın stated that they continue their services throughout the city and said, “The first stage we are on now starts from the Casting Junction. We are planning it as an alternative road to İlimtepe. We plan to complete the work of the first phase here by the end of the year. In the meantime, we are starting the tender process for the second phase. As soon as this place is finished, the construction of the second phase will begin. And at the end of this period, both here and the second stage will be completed,” he said.
“TO BE COMPLETED BY THE END OF 2022”
Continuing his statements by saying, “We will make a crossing over the TEM Highway and connect it to the casting junction,” Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Assoc. Dr. Tahir Büyükakın said, “In this way, we will gain an important axis in terms of transportation to this region. When the second stage is completed, we will have another axis in terms of access to İlimtepe. This project was the most important project that our Körfez district expected in terms of transportation. The first phase will be completed by the end of the year, and the rest by the end of 2022.

Continuing his statements by saying, “We do not fail the trust of our brothers living in İlimtepe, especially in the Gulf district," Mayor Büyükakın said, “This was a transportation project that our region wanted and desired. FOUR-LANE ROAD
The road starting from D-100 Yeni Yalı Neighborhood will pass through Çamlıtepe and Yavuz Sultan Selim Neighborhoods. With the completion of the next stages of the four-lane road that will provide a north-south connection between the D-100 Highway and İlimtepe Residences, it is aimed to connect the Sevindikli exit of the Northern Marmara Highway with the D-100 Highway.
