Dr. Dt. Beril Karagenç Batal gave information about the subject. The most important organ for nutrition and a beautiful smile is undoubtedly the teeth. We may have to extract the teeth due to many reasons (such as impacted wisdom teeth, milk teeth that do not fall out on time, broken and decayed teeth that cannot be restored...). If the surgical site is not kept clean, serious infections and pain are inevitable.

After tooth extraction, pressure should be applied to the area for 30-40 minutes by biting the tampon. This process suppresses bleeding. In addition, situations that increase bleeding should be avoided. Mouth should not be rinsed with water. Especially alcohol and cigarettes should be avoided for 24 hours. Meals should be eaten at least 2 hours after shooting. Hot foods and beverages should not be consumed for 24 hours. In addition, taking aspirin-derived pain relievers increases bleeding and adversely affects healing, so their use should be avoided. Sour, spicy, crunchy foods can irritate the wound site.

Cold application can be made against edema and pain after tooth extraction. The extraction area should not be brushed within 24 hours. After 1 day, the teeth are brushed and the wound area is cleaned with antiseptic mouthwashes. While eating, the food that enters the shooting cavity may form bacteria there and infection may develop. This very painful condition can usually last for 1 week and you should consult your doctor as soon as possible.
