AK Party Provincial Chairman Davut Gürkan and members of the board of directors visited Gökmen Aerospace Training Center (GUHEM), which was brought to the city under the leadership of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) in cooperation with the Metropolitan Municipality and TÜBİTAK. Davut Gürkan said that GUHEM, which is the largest center in Europe in its field, will increase the awareness of the young generation in aerospace.
AK Party Provincial Chairman Davut Gürkan and members of the board of directors visited GUHEM and received information about the work of the center where 154 mechanisms are located. Underlining that important steps have been taken in our country in space aviation studies, which have gained great momentum throughout the world in recent years, President Gürkan said, “The success we have achieved in unmanned aerial vehicle technology is followed with appreciation by the countries of the world. It is appreciated by all of us that the future is in these works in communication, defense and many other fields. We will build the future of our country together as a follower and supporter of every step taken with the work we carry out in our Information and Communication Technologies Departments, which started their activities in our organizations in 81 provinces together with our headquarters under the roof of our Party.
“GUHEM WILL CHANGE THE PERSPECTIVE”
Expressing that the center, which was realized in cooperation with the Metropolitan Municipality and TÜBİTAK with the vision put forward by BTSO in 2013, will be a center of attraction for those who dream of space aviation, Davut Gürkan said, “We saw the vision of BTSO in GUHEM. Having a strong infrastructure, the Center is an important step towards the future. Space and aviation sectors will gain more importance in the future. The needs began to take shape accordingly. In this context, it is important to raise future generations with this vision. The perspectives of all our young people and children who come to GUHEM about space aviation will change. I would like to thank İbrahim Burkay, Chairman of the BTSO Board of Directors, and the board of directors, who contributed to the realization of the center.” he said.
“CONVERSION CENTER”
BTSO Chairman of the Board İbrahim Burkay stated that they realized GUHEM with the goal and vision set in 2013 and said, “GUHEM, which we brought to our city under the leadership of our chamber, is assigning a new mission to Bursa in the space and aviation journey in line with the determination of our President to carry our country to the space league. The field of space defense and aerospace constitutes one of the most important working areas of world economies in the next 50 years. We wish to make Bursa a center in this regard. Our Ministry and Metropolitan Municipality have always been our most important supporters in the realization of this project. GUHEM, which is the first in its field in Europe and among the top 5 in the world, is a transformation center that will enable the young generation to be interested in the field of aerospace.” he said.
BTSO Assembly President Ali Uğur said that the Gökmen Space Aviation Training Center will undertake an important mission in raising young people who are curious about space aviation.
GUHEM CONTINUES TO WELCOME ITS GUESTS
The center continues to welcome its visitors 6 days a week. From the life of astronauts in space to the solar system, from the experience of passenger planes to the International Space Station, the guests examined the exhibition and assembly prepared with more than 150 local facilities. The center, which is closed on Mondays, can be visited between 11.00:16.00 and XNUMX:XNUMX on other days.
