The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure made a statement after the claims that the maintenance and repair works on the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge would take 900 days. The statement stated that the repair will be completed with 75 days of night work.

During the works, the bridge will not be completely closed to traffic in any way.
Reminding that the FSM Bridge was put into operation in 1988 and located on the busiest traffic axis of the country, the Ministry's Twitter account said: and repairs were necessary. The replacement of the suspension ropes of the FSM Bridge will be completed with a total of 240 days of night work, 5 nights a month. During the works, the bridge will not be completely closed to traffic in any way, and in case of need, only one lane will be closed within the scope of occupational health and safety measures, and the traffic flow will be carried out in such a way that the traffic flow is not affected.
