The Ministry of Labor and Social Security made the second support payments within the scope of the Financial Support and Guidance Program of the Improvement of Occupational Health and Safety in Mining Project (MISGEP), of which 29 underground mining enterprises in 80 provinces are beneficiaries.

In this program, which was jointly financed by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey, a total of 850 thousand lira support was provided to mining workplaces. Support payments of up to 38 thousand lira per workplace were made. In this context, payments were made to 76 mining workplaces that met the payment criteria for May.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Security gives this support to workplaces in return for the occupational health and safety services received by underground mining enterprises. For support, it is required that the occupational safety specialist, workplace doctor and other health personnel who will carry out these services in the workplaces are appointed and the payments for this service are made by the employer. Underground metal mines with an average of at least 20 employees and underground coal mines with an average of at least 50 employees benefit from the support. While the maximum support that can be given is recorded as 15 Euros per employee, the payment is determined according to the expenses of the workplaces.

This support, which includes technical guidance as well as financial support, will continue to be provided for 24 months.
