Offering comfortable and safe travel to millions of passengers with its more than 50 thousand buses in 35 countries of the world, Otokar has received an order for 50 natural gas-fired city buses from Azerbaijan to be used in Baku public transportation.
One of the Koç Group companies, Otokar continues to grow in export markets with its own designed and manufactured buses. Otokar, whose buses are used in more than 50 countries, especially in Europe, has recently received an order for 50 CNG city buses from Azerbaijan's leading public transportation company Xaliq Faiqoglu. The orders for 48 KENT 12 meter CNG and 2 18.75 meter CNG KENT Bellows to be produced in line with the needs of Baku public transportation will be started this year and are planned to be completed in the first quarter of 2022.

General Manager Serdar Görgüç stated that he is very happy to export the city buses of Otokar, which is the first choice of European capitals with its nearly 60 years of experience in the public transportation sector, engineering capability and vehicles, to Azerbaijan; “We are happy that our vehicles, which are the first choice in urban public transportation in many European countries, especially in France, Italy, Spain, Germany and Romania, as well as in Turkey, will soon be serving in Azerbaijan as well. Görgüç said that 48 KENT and 2 KENT Articulated CNG vehicles will be produced in line with Baku public transportation needs. “KENT buses, which we will produce in line with the demands of the country's largest city bus operator Xaliq Faiqoglu, who has been serving in Azerbaijan for nearly 20 years, will offer unmatched comfort in Baku public transportation services with their large interior volume and features.”

We have developed Turkey's first electric, first hybrid, CNG and first safe bus with the strength we derive from our R&D studies. Every day, more than 35 thousand of our buses offer comfortable and safe travel opportunities to millions of passengers. Our 2022 buses, whose deliveries will start this year and will be completed in the first quarter of 50, will also support the fight against both climate change and air pollution.”
