Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, within the scope of the circular published by the Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş, focuses on projects that prioritize saving in service understanding. EGO General Directorate ANKARAY Plant has achieved a saving of 24 million Euros by maintaining a wagon that has been idle for 1,5 years with its own means.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality gives priority to projects prepared in line with its savings-oriented service approach.

Within the scope of the circular issued by Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş as soon as he took office, all units are turning to savings in their services. EGO General Directorate ANKARAY Plant repaired a wagon that was taken out of use as a result of an accident in 1997.

WAGON HAS BEEN INSTALLED FOR 24 YEARS READY FOR SERVICE

Thanks to the maintenance and repair work carried out by the EGO General Directorate with its own resources, a great deal of savings was achieved.

While a contribution of 1 million Euros was made to the municipal budget with the repair work lasting approximately 1,5 year at the Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Workshop within the ANKARAY Central Plant, test drives of the wagon started. Aiming to provide a more comfortable and healthy transportation to the citizens of the capital city, the Metropolitan Municipality will put the renewed wagon into service in a short time.

ANKARAY INTERVALS WILL ACCELERATE

Expressing that they are happy to bring the wagon, which has been idle for years, back into service, EGO Deputy General Manager Emin Güre gave the following information:

“We are carrying out our work within the scope of the austerity measures of our President, Mr. Mansur Yavaş. After an accident in our ANKARAY facility 24 years ago, one of our wagons was out of use. The cost of a new wagon is 1,5 million Euros. Taking this figure into account, we started our work to restore our wagon. We repaired this train with the efforts of our friends in about a year. We have also completed all kinds of testing and certification processes and made our first ride. After our test drive of 4-5 months, we will put it at the service of our citizens. There will be relief with the introduction of another train in our ANKARAY operation. While our voyage intervals are getting faster, we have earned 1,5 million Euros to our municipality.”
