In accordance with the Presidential Decision, the trains, which included the first batch of aid coals carried by the General Directorate of TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ this year, set off from Soma and Tunçbilek.

In line with the Presidential Decision, a protocol was signed between Turkish Coal Enterprises and TCDD Tasimacilik AŞ for the transportation of aid coals by rail.

With the partnership of Turkish Coal Enterprises, TCDD Tasimacilik AS and Social Solidarity and Assistance Foundation, it is planned to deliver 550 thousand tons of aid coal this year.

The route of the aid coal trains, which will travel an average of 1400 kilometers, consists of Osmaniye, Kahramanmaraş, Gaziantep, Adıyaman, Elazığ, Malatya, Batman, Diyarbakır, Mardin, Siirt, Muş, Bingöl, Bitlis, Sivas, Erzincan, Erzurum and Kars.

Coal will be transported to the provinces in the Eastern Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia where there is no railway, by transferring from the nearest railway stations to road vehicles, by combined transportation.

Since 2003, 7 million 237 thousand tons of aid coal has been sent by rail, especially to the East and Southeast regions.
