Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu visited the Turkish Yol-İş Union, one of the leading unions of Türk-İş. Meeting with TÜRK-İŞ Confederation President Ergün Atalay, Turkish Yol İş Union President Ramazan Ağar and Yol-İş Board Members, Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that Yol-İş Union is one of the veteran organizations of the Turkish trade union process and said, “Our Yol-İş Union has stood by the state and the nation in the breakthrough processes in Turkey's road network. As the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, we have always felt the hard work and support of road workers in our effort to reach our vision of safe, accessible, economical, comfortable, fast, environmentally friendly, uninterrupted, balanced and sustainable transportation that improves the life quality of our people.

“In all the important works we have accomplished, the biggest share belongs to our employees”

Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that the construction sites continue to work non-stop with all the health and safety measures taken, despite the pandemic process that has taken Turkey and the whole world under its influence for the last two years. Karaismailoğlu said, “We have invested close to 1 trillion 104 billion liras for transportation and communication investments in our country. Of this amount, 680 billion liras, or 62 percent, was spent on highway investments. We increased the number of cities connected by divided roads from 6 to 77. We increased our Divided Road length from 6 kilometers to 100 kilometers. In all the important work we achieve, the biggest share belongs to our employees. As I always emphasize; Turkey will develop with the labor of its workers and the determination of its nation.”

“We as the public sector and you as the employees will continue to join forces”

Minister Karaismailoğlu noted that in addition to building roads, studies are continuing to expand smart transportation systems. Expressing that economic vitality and logistics mobility will increase with smart transportation systems, Karaismailoğlu said, thanks to the roads; He pointed out that serious improvements were seen in production, employment, trade and economy.

Karaismailoğlu continued his words as follows: “We see the road as an indicator of civilization, a means of communication and cultural interaction. We know very well that 'the best of people are those who serve people'. We have never forgotten that our working brothers and sisters are sweaty in all of our great works on a world scale that we have done for the last 19 years. Therefore, I congratulate you wholeheartedly for your efforts in the development of our country. We, the public sector, and you, as employees, will continue to join forces; We will continue to work in an environment of unity, integrity, cooperation and peace for the development of our country.”
