15 PERCENT RISE ACCEPTED!
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Coordination Center meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.
A 24,12 percent increase in transportation fees was demanded by the Public Transportation Services Directorate at the meeting at the Istanbul Congress Center due to reasons such as inflation, fuel expenses, and the increase in the minimum wage.
İBB President İmamoğlu also made a presentation including subsidies to public transportation, income and expense items and said that the requested hike was the result of the economic trend.
Stating that IMM has a subsidy of 2,3 billion TL for public transportation, İmamoğlu said that this figure corresponds to 8 percent of the budget. İmamoğlu also noted that they want to make the hikes in July every year.
