Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy said that Türkiye Scholarships, which started with around 2012 thousand applications in 42, have reached the level of 178 applications from 165 different countries, and approximately 5 thousand scholarships are given to international students every year.

Minister Ersoy spoke at the 10th International Student Graduation Ceremony held at the Ankara Provinces House by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).

Stating that they started the Türkiye Scholarships program nine years ago to build a more just, peaceful and prosperous future, Minister Ersoy stated that international students studying in Turkey have the opportunity to benefit from extra-curricular social, cultural and academic activities with scholarships.

Expressing that the program also supports academics, researchers and public personnel in other countries with different research modules and Turkish language training, Minister Ersoy continued as follows:

“In a world whose agenda is shaken by wars, hunger and epidemics, it is a human and conscientious responsibility to share assets and opportunities fairly, from economy to education, from trade to health, and more importantly, to enable countries that do not have these opportunities to stand on their own feet by gaining the production and development capacity in every possible field. The most important condition for fulfilling this responsibility is to raise well-equipped, global-thinking, entrepreneurial generations that will shape the future of their own country. This is the ideal and vision underlying the Türkiye Scholarships program. These new generations are our strongest guarantee to develop social, cultural, political and economic ties between our countries.”

“There are more than 169 thousand Turkish graduates in 150 countries of the world”

Stating that they will continue to support the program as the Ministry, Minister Ersoy said, “Turkey Scholarships, which started with around 2012 thousand applications in 42, have reached the level of 178 applications from 165 different countries today. Approximately 5 scholarships are awarded to international students each year. This year, we graduated 104 undergraduate, 940 graduate and 941 doctoral students from 485 countries. Today, there are more than 169 thousand Turkish graduates in 150 countries of the world.” used his statements.

Minister Ersoy, who stated that the family of Turkey graduates has great success stories, said, “It is an indescribable feeling to see the point we have reached on the way we started 9 years ago, and to witness the success of the people whose lives you touched. We had a nice challenge while presenting the awards. Because there were 488 applications, that is, 488 success stories. So we had to choose among them. I would like to thank all of our graduates who applied and congratulate them individually, hoping to hear their new success stories.” made its assessment.
