According to the statement of the Beijing Municipal Transportation Commission, subway passengers in Beijing will be able to pay their fares in digital yuan. The digital yuan option is now available on Beijing's 24 rail transit lines and four commuter rails. Those who want to use the trial service need to register with the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China as a digital RMB commercial use and follow the next steps.

Beijing's rail transit lines plan to explore wider application of digital RMB in more scenarios to improve the digital travel experience for passengers.

On the other hand, there was a first in China recently, where a business paid employees' salaries with digital money. The said application was implemented in the Xiong'an New Development Zone in Hebei Province in the north of the country. The digital salary was given to workers who participated in the reforestation project in the Xiong'an region. According to the statement from local authorities, the digital salary in question was distributed in the form of digital yuan and no additional transaction fees were paid, and the distribution process was carried out more securely.
