Metro Istanbul and Panasonic Manufacturing (Beijing) Co. Ltd is going to an important cooperation. Metro Istanbul General Manager Özgür Soy and Panasonic Turkey General Manager Tuğrul Han signed the R&D and Production Business Partnership (Joint Venture) agreement on Platform Separator Door Systems (PAKS) between the two companies on July 8, 2021.

First of all, within the scope of the agreement; Product developments of the full-length PAKS system of 5 stations on the Çekmeköy-Sancaktepe-Sultanbeyli stage of the M8 Line will be carried out at the Metro Istanbul R&D Center, and the Izmir Çiğli Tram Project with 48 stations is in the proposal stage.

At the first stage, the local control panel (LCP), radio frequency identification (RFID) systems, passenger warning light (DOI) and UPS systems of the PAKS system will be developed at the Metro Istanbul R&D Center.
