Buca Train Station, one of our cultural heritages that has witnessed history, will be renovated with the work of young architects. With the project produced in cooperation with the Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD) and Yaşar University, the face of the idle station will change.

Yaşar University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design final year students carried out an interior design project for the restoration and reuse of the idle historical Buca Train Station. The architects, who made the presentation of the project at Alsancak Station, will soon begin to restore Buca Station.

With the work supported by Istanbul MEF University, a “Linear Railway Park” was designed on the old railway line connecting Buca and Şirinyer, as well as the station.

Speaking at the program held in front of the historical Atatürk Wagon for the promotion of the project, TCDD 3rd Regional Director Ergün Yurtçu stated that they attach great importance to the transfer of these structures, which have witnessed history, to future generations, and that they sincerely support the works in this direction.

Yaşar University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Assoc. Dr. Zeynep Tuna Ultav, on the other hand, stated that they hope the historical places in the city will regain their function and that they are carrying out works that make them proud.

After the project presentations at the meeting, the visitors visited the historical Atatürk Wagon.
