Academic Support from Ege University to Manisa

Between Ege University Education Faculty and Manisa National Education Directorate; Ege University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hakan Atılgan, Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. A cooperation project protocol was signed with the participation of Hülya Yılmaz and Manisa Provincial Director of National Education Mustafa Dikici. Within the scope of the protocol, it is aimed to carry out professional development practices for Information Technologies teachers who take part in the Code(Ma)nisa Project and DIY Workshops Project, to update the program designs to be implemented and to produce supporting materials.

Providing information about the protocol, Dean of EU Education Faculty Prof. Dr. Hülya Yılmaz said, “Kodla(Ma)nisa Project has been carried out since 2015 under the auspices of Manisa Governor's Office under the coordination of Manisa Provincial Directorate of National Education, and DIY Workshops Project supported by Zafer Development Agency as part of the New Generation Financial Support Program (YENEP) since 2019. Within the scope of DIY Workshops and Code(Ma)nisa Projects, more than 30 new generation design skill workshops were established throughout Manisa to develop students' digital skills, with priority on robotic coding and design skills. Within the scope of the protocol, Ege University Faculty of Education Computer and Instructional Technologies Department aims to carry out professional development practices for Information Technologies teachers who took part in these projects, to update the program designs to be implemented and to produce supporting materials.

Stating that they aim to present the knowledge of Ege University for the benefit of the society, Prof. Dr. Yılmaz said, “Computer and Instructional Technologies Department Vice President Dr. Instructor 5E Teaching Model seminars are given practically by its member Alev Ateş Çobanoğlu, on the basis of constructivist learning theory, to Information Technologies teachers determined by Manisa Directorate of National Education. In this way, under the guidance of the lecturer, Information Technologies teachers are provided to prepare a plan to apply the theoretical knowledge they learned in the seminar in their lessons. Within the scope of the protocol, Assoc. Dr. Firat Sarsar and Dr. Instructor With the editorial team to be formed by its member, Alev Ateş Çobanoğlu, guidebooks will be prepared for the applications to be used in the DIY and Code(Ma)nisa workshops.”
