Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality takes all necessary measures to ensure safe and comfortable transportation. In this context, the Department of Transportation, Bus Operations Branch Office continues to work with the understanding of 'Zero Waste' and 'Savings'.
TARGETING 'SOCIAL ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS'
Providing service on an area of approximately 10 decares, the Bus Garage provides savings with Temporary Zero Waste Application Projects. With the Zero Waste approach, it is aimed to increase performance, reduce costs, reduce environmental risks and make employees feel 'sensitive consumers'. By developing sustainable projects and implementing 'Zero Waste and Saving' activities, the Bus Management Branch is planning to create 'Social Environmental Awareness'.
WASTE WATER IS RE-USED
All vehicles are cleaned daily with an Automatic Car Washing Machine and Water Treatment Unit. The resulting wastewater is sent to the Treatment Unit for recycling. After removing the factors such as taste, odor and turbidity, the stored waste water is returned to the washing units to be used again in the bus washing process.
NATURE IS PREVENTED TO BE DAMAGED
Duct Pressure Washing Units, on the other hand, ensure that the wastes generated by washing the underside of the vehicles are integrated into the İSU İzmit Plajyolu Waste Water Recycling Facility after performing the necessary filtering processes. By cleaning solid and liquid oil residues and metal abrasion dust, adverse effects such as groundwater pollution, damage to vegetation, fire and explosions are prevented.
USED OILS ARE DISPOSAL
The oils accumulated in the Oil Storage Area, where the used oils discharged from the vehicle are collected, are taken to the disposal facilities. In this way, the cost of cleaning up the pollution caused by groundwater is avoided. Separated waste is also temporarily stored in the Waste Container.
