The Rahvan Horse Races, organized by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality at the Productlu Equestrian Sports Facility to keep traditional sports branches alive, were breathtaking.

Rahvan Equestrian Competitions, organized by the Metropolitan Municipality in cooperation with the Turkish Traditional Sports Federation and Bursa Rahvan and Race Horse Riders Sports Club Association, were held in Productlu. The races with intense participation from Konya, İzmir, Ankara, Aydın, Kütahya, Erzurum, Bursa, Samsun, Denizli and Balıkesir, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş, Osmangazi Mayor Mustafa Dündar, Bursa Deputy and MHP Secretary General İsmet Büyükataman, Turkish Traditional Many sports fans watched with Mustafa Küçükmeral, Vice President of Sports Branches Federation. The races, which started with the Quran recitation of Muradiye Mosque Imam orator Lütfi Taşçı and held in the categories of Imported A, Imported B, Triple Colt, Quadruple Colt, Small Medium, Large Medium, Başaltı and Baş, witnessed great competition.

Cup to Büyükataman

Particularly the interest of the protocol in the races held in the Small Medium category was greater. MHP Secretary General İsmet Büyüktataman, who is the owner of the horse named Caucasus, which competed in this category, watched this race holding his breath. Rider Okan Demir won the first place with Büyükataman's horse named Caucasus, while Salim İleri's horse came second and Yücel Akkaya's horse came third in this category. During the award ceremony, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş presented Büyükataman with his cup and medal.

Fatih Ramazan's horse came first and Erol Kaygısız's horse came second in the Imported Category A in the races that continued throughout the day. Burak Karaman's horse came first in the Imported Category B, and the second was Abdurrahim Baranok's horse. In Triple Tay, horse owners Murat Kölemenoğlu came first, Mehmet Başaran second and Resul Demir third. In the Quad Tay, Doğan Efe took the first place, Resul Demir took the second place and Metehan Apaydın took the third place. Yunus Arslan was first, Mehmet Barut was second, and Raşit Yılmaz was third in Büyük Orta, while Murat Kölemenoğlu took the first place in the Başaltı Category, Adem Usluy took the second place and Erhan Çınar took the third place. Yunus Arslan became the champion of the Head Category, Mustafa Dinçbaş placed second and Berna Bağcı's horse third. The medals and cups were given to the horse owners and athletes who ranked in the races by the President Aktaş and the members of the protocol.

Sport is not just football

Speaking at the award ceremony, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş thanked everyone who gave their effort and support to keep traditional sports alive. Expressing that such moves are of great importance in order to destroy an understanding that sees sports as consisting only of football, President Aktaş said, “Yes, football is a branch that appeals to large masses and has high advertising value, but ancestral sports such as javelin, horseback riding, wrestling and wrestling are indispensable for us. It made me very happy to see our young brothers here. Hopefully, we will continue to expand these organizations. I congratulate all the athletes who have achieved degrees.”
