Technology company Doruk emphasizes that digital transformation is a must for the future of production in Turkey and that it is necessary to act with a roadmap that includes all stakeholders.

When the current situation of the production sector in Turkey and in the world is evaluated, it is clear that digital transformation is a necessity in order to overcome the efficiency and investment bottleneck. In particular, it is of critical importance for industrialists to determine their current status in digital processes and to plan the necessary infrastructure and human resources. Evaluating the future of production in Turkey, Doruk Board Member and ProManage Corporation General Manager Aylin Tülay Özden; He stated that we can achieve a successful digital transformation process with a coordinated and well-designed approach that includes all stakeholders on the basis of government, university, industry, company and individual. Pointing out that robotization alone cannot be the right solution for countries like Turkey, where the young population is very dense, Özden underlined that we cannot think of the future of production independently of culture and sociology in this context.

Stating that digitalization in production is a necessity in terms of productivity, growth, employment and investment potential in the national development axis, Doruk Member of the Board of Directors and ProManage Corporation General Manager Aylin Tülay Özden; He emphasized that a strategic road map should be drawn by taking environmental, economic and sociological factors into account as well as environmental.

“When integrating Industry 4.0 into our lives, it is imperative that we think multi-dimensionally”

Evaluating Turkey's progress in the digital transformation process, Aylin Tülay Özden; “We are a country with a strong industry. We have to find formulas to incorporate our precious and talented population into the manufacturing industry. Ready-made prescription digitalization approaches do not fit all countries. In order for production and revenues to continue, factories must have an uninterrupted workforce. For example, in the past industrialized countries such as Japan and Germany needed workers from neighboring countries to meet adequate human resources. With the advancement of technology, robots have begun to dominate physically heavy and repetitive tasks instead of humans. The robotization and mechanization dimension of Industry 4.0 is of great importance in countries such as Germany and Japan. However, if we take the example of Turkey and America, there are many young people in these two markets. Young people use the internet very heavily and they are currently studying mostly online. They are very familiar with mobile applications, cell phones and live in the digital world. They do their shopping in the digital world, their communication and sohbetthey do it in the virtual world. At this point, we cannot ignore the fact that there is a young population in the world and in Turkey, but this population does not want to work in factories consisting only of machines, mechanical and manual operations. As digitalization increases in operational functioning in our factories and as production, performance and processes of factories become digitalized and turn to transparent, modern and simple environments with visualization, the young population will have a greater enthusiasm to be a part of this game. There are modern digital factories in front of us, which are managed with high performance by expert workers and engineers, connected to each other by communication lines in the supply chain, and they need experts to run them perfectly. said

“Robotization alone cannot be the right solution for Turkey with a dense young population”

Emphasizing that, as a country with a strong industry, we need to develop new formulas for our young population to work in factories, Özden pointed out that we need to gain value from young people in terms of more efficient products, systems and operations in factories, more production and more qualified production. We need to increase our gross national product, reduce many of our foreign dependencies and increase our export volume. I do not think that robotization alone is the right solution for Turkey. If we do this, I believe that issues such as what kind of job, what kind of income will we find for the manpower that will be born, and what kind of social explosion will this create should be seriously considered. In this context, we cannot think of the future of production independently of culture and sociology.”

The level of digitalization in production in our country will increase rapidly

Özden stated that a strategic approach should be applied for a successful digital transformation; “As a society, we are very open to innovations. We are one of the leading countries in the world in internet and mobile phone usage. Therefore, I think that we are among the culturally advanced countries in the world in the spread of digitalization to society. When digital transformation in production is evaluated with the perspective of Industry 4.0; We can only benefit from this process with a coordinated and well-designed approach that includes all stakeholders on the basis of government, university, industry, company and individual. Manufacturers in our country have many years of experience and usage experience. I believe that Turkey, which has a young population, has a bright future in digitalization. For this reason, our level of digitalization in production will also increase rapidly.”

“We must keep qualified software developers in Turkey”

Stating that our country is sufficient for Industry 4.0 in terms of necessary hardware and technological competence, but the lack of qualified software developers constitutes a very serious problem, Aylin Tülay Özden said, “We can say that one of the most important problems of our industry is the lack of qualified software developers. In our country, our young people and experienced experts, who are especially devoted to software, technology and computer science, have an idealistic and international vision. A professional with the appropriate technological equipment can work in the field of software and internet technologies, regardless of location. Therefore, we have human resources in our country that can develop technology products at international standards, and this human resource is in demand from abroad. We need to improve the economic, environmental and sociological conditions in our country and ensure that well-equipped people work for Turkey, not abroad.”
