Otokar, one of the Koç Group companies, announced its results for the first 2021 months of 6. Taking bold steps towards its goal of becoming a global player, Otokar continued to grow despite the effects of the pandemic. Otokar increased its turnover by 6 percent in the first 64 months of the year compared to the same period of the previous year, and increased its exports by 37 percent. Otokar's net profit in the first 6 months was TL 396,5 million. General Manager Serdar Görgüç stated that they are pleased with the results achieved by Otokar, which continues its activities in a healthy manner with safe production practices; “We are being preferred more and more in the country and abroad with our wide product range in commercial and military vehicles, our technology, our design capabilities and the solutions we have developed in line with customer needs. We are adding new achievements to our success with our innovative product range and after-sales services.”

Otokar, the leading company of the Turkish automotive and defense industry, shared its results for the first 6 months of the year. Operating in more than 5 countries in 60 continents with its products whose intellectual property rights belong to it, Otokar increased its turnover by 2021 percent in the first half of 64, with vehicle deliveries in the commercial and defense industries. The company, which closed the first half of the year with a turnover of 1,9 billion TL, increased its exports by 37 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. Otokar's exports in the first 6 months amounted to 152 million USD and its net profit was 396,5 million TL.

Noting that Otokar, which has achieved significant global success with the aim of becoming a world brand, continues its sustainable growth by carrying out its activities in a healthy manner with safe production practices despite the pandemic conditions, General Manager Serdar Görgüç said; “We achieved a good performance in the first six months of the year thanks to the valuable efforts of our employees in this difficult period we are in. We are gaining appreciation and increasing our sales in Turkey and in more than 60 countries of the world with our engineering capability, competent human resources, wide product range, solutions we have developed in line with customer needs, strong sales network and after-sales services. In the past 6 months, we have completed our order for 364 buses from the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality ESHOT General Directorate, and the deliveries of our military vehicle orders from abroad continued. We continued our deliveries in urban public transportation, tourism sector and logistics. Our military vehicles continued to be appreciated in friendly and allied countries. We have developed and added COBRA II MRAP, the mine-protected vehicle of our vehicle COBRA II, which is preferred in export markets as well as in Turkey, to our product family. We have completed the tests of Turkey's autonomous bus," he said.

Görgüç stated that Otokar, which has spent 10 billion TL in this area by allocating 8 percent of its turnover to R&D activities in the last 1,3 years, maintains its title as the most preferred bus brand in Turkey in the segments in which it operates with its wide product range; “Our own technology, the vehicles designed by our engineers, our applications and the commercial vehicles we have developed in accordance with the wishes of our customers serve millions of passengers in our country and all over the world. In the coming period, we will continue to work to maintain our leadership with our new orders, especially the Ankara EGO General Directorate in the domestic market; We will continue to grow in export markets. We continue to lead our industry with our products in the defense industry that we have developed and produced for current and future threats. We are working to provide the best products and services to our more than 50 users, especially our army and security forces.
