Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Memduh Büyükkılıç said that they contributed to the transportation of the city and gave information about the tram lines that are under construction. Büyükkılıç said that Kayseri will have a 48-kilometer tram line and said, “Currently, we have 69 vehicles. By adding 5 more trams to add to 6 Anafartalar lines and 11 to Talas line, we have reached a total of 80 tram vehicles.”

Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Memduh Büyükkılıç said that public transportation is a must for a city and said, “Community transportation, especially in terms of developed and developing cities, with its comfort, environmentalist understanding and economic dimension, and not to occupy the traffic unnecessarily and not to create density. and a preferred dimension with the understanding of not disrupting. In this sense, we continue our work by increasing the tram, which is the most comfortable means of transportation, to 48 kilometers in our city. In addition, we reinforce our electric buses with an environmentally friendly approach. You will appreciate that we do not have the chance to go everywhere with our electric or natural gas buses. However, we are supplementing our transportation with them. There were minibuses in Kayseri in the past. We thus prevented traffic chaos by turning them into environmentally friendly buses. In the past, there were phaetons again. We remember our youth and high school years. They have already made history and are being remembered nostalgically. We see public transportation as indispensable. In this context, we continue our work, especially on the tram. As it will be remembered, there is currently an existing line of 35 kilometers in Kayseri. This line starts from Organized Industry. It passes through the center of the city and extends to Ildem on Sivas Street. In addition, we have a line that passes from the İpek Saray region over the university and extends to the Talas Cemilbaba cemetery. We are actively using this line as well.”

Büyükkılıç said, “Now we are adding 2 more lines to our tram. One of these lines starts from Anafartalar, passes in front of our existing new terminal, passes in front of our city hospital and Nuh Naci Yazgan University, and reaches the area we call the furniture city. This tram line is 7 kilometers long. At the same time, we have a line that starts in the Mevlana District, which will appeal to a population of approximately 150 thousand. This line will start from Mevlana Mahallesi and connect to our Furkan Doğan Tram stop. This line has a length of 6 kilometers. When I sum all this up, we have a 48-kilometer tram line. We currently have 69 vehicles. By adding 5 more trams to add to 6 Anafartalar lines and 11 to Talas line, we have reached a total of 80 tram vehicles.”
