Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank stated that the kangal dog is one of the important brands of Sivas and said, “We will protect the kangal dog breed and ensure that the production and training of the kangal dog is done in the right hands in this center established with the support of our Central Anatolian Development Agency (ORAN). said.

Minister Varank, in his speech at the opening of Sivas Kangal Dog Production, Training and Protection Center, reminded that they have recently opened important projects in many cities from Edirne to Diyarbakır and said, “From private sector investments established with our incentives and support, to tourism projects, from industrial infrastructures to education, technology. and entrepreneurship centers, we have implemented numerous projects. I hope each of these projects will make significant contributions to the development of our provinces and the welfare of our citizens.” he said.


Noting that they are working for the development of Sivas and increasing the welfare of the people of Sivas, Varank reported that they have invested close to 44 billion liras in various fields in the city so far. Pointing out that there has been a great economic development in Sivas in the last 19 years, Varank said that the national product of the province has grown by 2004 percent since 82, reaching 22,5 billion liras, and the share of the industry in the provincial national product has increased from 11 percent to 20 percent.


Informing that the number of workplaces in the manufacturing industry sectors in the province increased by 2007 percent compared to 40, Varank said, “Today, our domestic and foreign companies, which are world-renowned in the machinery, textile, mining, defense industry, cosmetics and cement sectors, are producing in Sivas. Our city, which was able to export only 2003 million dollars in 10, exports approximately 100 million dollars in official figures today. When you include the products produced in Sivas but cleared outside the province, we can say that it exports 250 million dollars.” used his statements.


Noting that the Kangal dog is one of the important brands of Sivas, Varank said, “It has a worldwide reputation. Kangal dog, which is an endemic species, is also a social and economic value that attracts a lot of attention. It is a security element that protects the herds, homes and workplaces, and a therapy tool that serves the disabled according to its place. In this center, which was established with the support of our ORAN Development Agency, we will protect the Kangal dog breed and ensure that its production and training are done in the right hands. This project, which has a budget of 7 million lira, will increase the brand value of the kangal dog and will contribute to the promotion of our Sivas.” he said.


Varank, who informed that the center will create a data infrastructure that will enable scientific studies and present it to academicians, wished the project to be beneficial for Sivas. Stating that as the Ministry, they are working to meet all the needs of Sivas and that they are constructing new projects that will activate the high potential of the city, Varank said, "We stand by our Sivas as well as every other province with our comprehensive regional development policies, investment incentives and R&D supports." said.


Stating that they have transferred important resources in the fields of tourism, agriculture and animal husbandry, especially in the manufacturing industry, with ORAN Development Agency and DAP Regional Development Administration, Varank said that the two institutions provided support of approximately 245 million lira to 220 projects in Sivas, and 3 thousand from the private sector through KOSGEB and TUBITAK He stated that they transferred approximately 700 million TL of resources to 80 projects.


Varank stated that nearly 10 thousand people were employed in the enterprises that started operating in Sivas center, Gemerek and Şarkışla OIZs, which were completed and put at the service of industrialists, and that the work in Demirağ OIZ continues. Informing that they have issued investment incentive certificates for 2012 projects with an investment forecast of 4 billion liras since 417 in order to increase private sector investments in Sivas, Varank said, “160 of these investments have been completed and their production continues. Thanks to these completed investments, 3 of my brothers from Sivas are bringing bread to their homes.” he said.

At the opening ceremony, the Chairman of the National Defense Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and AK Party Sivas Deputy İsmet Yılmaz, Sivas Governor Salih Ayhan, Sivas Mayor Hilmi Bilgin and ORAN Development Agency Secretary General Ahmet Emin Kilci made speeches.

After the speeches, ribbon cutting was carried out and a souvenir photo was taken. Later, Minister Varank and his entourage examined the center.
